Electrical Construction

ImbuTec’s growth has been built on its foundation as an electrical contractor.  ImbuTec has been a trailblazer in the energy-efficient lighting market, helping a wide array of customers to improve the quality of lighting in their facilities while significantly reducing operating expenses at the same time.  The company has also been a leader in advocating for policies at the State and Federal level to encourage greater adoption of energy-efficient technologies.  In addition to completing large-scale lighting projects, ImbuTec has demonstrated its capabilities as a full-service electrical construction partner for commercial, industrial, and governmental customers.  Our goal is to first understand the challenges facing our customers, and to then devise creative, cost-effective solutions to address them.

Energy Efficient Lighting Upgrades

Lighting provides the biggest return on investment among energy conservation measures, and ImbuTec can provide energy-efficient lighting products and services to commercial, industrial and government customers.

Allegheny County Airport Authority – As a prime contractor, ImbuTec installed LED lighting upgrades to the parking garage, parking lots, and passenger pick-up and drop-off areas at Pittsburgh International Airport. The new lighting system in the parking garage reduced energy consumption by 83%, while increasing light levels by 15%.  At the time it was completed, it was the largest LED lighting retrofit project to date in the United States.  ImbuTec provided detailed analysis of the existing lighting system, and the operation of the proposed system.  In addition, ImbuTec lead the effort to secure more than $1,000,000 in grants to offset the total cost of the project. Contract value- $1,008,472.

Naval Facilities Engineering Command – To improve overall safety and security of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) NSA Mechanicsburg, ImbuTec was the prime contractor in designing and installing perimeter lighting upgrades throughout the installation to enhance Base security while improving energy efficiency. Contract Value $413,419

Dam Control Tower Electrical Upgrade

Youghiogheny Lock and Dam – ImbuTec performed electrical upgrades to the control tower at Youghiogheny River Lake. This included a new 480v service, disconnects, transformers, motor control center, and rebuilding the gate coils. The project also included a new emergency backup generator install, including the fuel system for the generator. Contract Value $596,178.49  

Security Camera Installation

Emsworth and Montgomery Lock and Dam CCTV and Control Systems Upgrade – ImbuTec installed PTZ IP cameras at Emsworth and Montgomery Lock and Dam. Each camera included installation of new cabling and Ethernet media converters. A few video recorder, Pelco Digital Sentry Workstations and monitors were installed, including all supporting devices and cabling. Contract Value $557,178

Naval Facilities Engineering Command, NSA Mechanicsburg, PA – ImbuTec designed and installed LED lighting upgrades to enhance Base security while improving energy-efficiency. Contract Value $413,419

David L Lawrence Convention Center 4th Floor Green Roof Upgrades – ImbuTec is performing the electrical work on this project. This includes disconnecting existing fixtures, installing new conduit and wire, installing fire alarm speaker strobe devices, and replacing emergency exit signs. Contract Value $230,050

Community College of Allegheny County – The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) makes campus security and safety a top priority for employees, students, and visitors.  ImbuTec installed 119 security cameras throughout the interior and exterior of the Allegheny and  Boyce Campuses.  By adding additional cameras and updating the software, CCAC was able to provide a safer and better learning environment.  Contract Value $335,732
